Tanner Lupton and Romero each had an RBI in the game.

The Chiefs got off to a great start in the top of the first scoring three runs but the Stars beat that effort by scoring 4 in the bottom half of the inning. The Stars scored another 4 runs in the bottom of the second and that's all they needed as they defeated the Chiefs 8-5. The Chiefs had just six hits in the game with Danny Myers going 2-3 with a double and Tanner Lupton, Ryan Romero, Gunnar Pancheri and Kyler Wells each getting an RBI.
For the second game in a row, the Chiefs did not come to play and lost to the Vallivue Titans 6-1 in a league contest at Rodeo. Kyler Wells started the game but fell ill after the first inning so he was replaced by Brady Mesenbrink then Nate Forseth in relief. Forseth was particularly effective going 3 1/3 innings while only giving up two hits and no earned runs. At the plate, the Chiefs out hit their opponents with a total of 9 hits but could not string enough together to score more than the one run. The Chiefs were led by Kraig Davidson who went 3-4 on the night and Chase Liljegren who hit a double and knocked in the sole Chief run.
In their annual summer doubleheader against Caldwell, the Chiefs got back on track and swept Caldwell 7-3 in the first game and 10-0 in a mercy rule shortened game in the night cap. Tanner Lupton, Chase Liljegren and Brady Mesenbrink "staff pitched" the first game with Lupton giving up no runs in three innings to earn the win. Mesenbrink picked up the save. In the bottom of the first, Danny Myers started off with a double and on a 1-0 pitch, Kyler Wells hit a two run bomb over the left field Stone Lumber sign for the Chiefs first home run of the year. Not to be outdone, Nate Forseth hit a bottom of the fifth grand slam home run off the Boys and Girls Club metal roof to finish up the game. In between the two home runs, the Chiefs picked up another 12 hits to boost their batting averages. Forseth added two more hits during the game and had a total of 6 RBI's. Other standouts included Tanner Lupton who went 3-4, Ryan Romero who went 2-4 and Chase Liljegren who went 2-3 with a triple.
In a puzzling game, the Chiefs didn't show up until the 6th inning in a league matchup against Meridian and lost 9-8 after being down 9-1 heading into the bottom of the 6th. Nate Forseth took the loss but gave up just one earned run during his four innings on the mound as the Chiefs had 6 errors on the night. The Chiefs had 8 hits including 2 RBI singles by Zach Treinen and Kenny Redfeldt in the 5 run 6th inning but it wasn't enough to make up the difference.
In a non league double header road contest against Mountain View, the Chiefs split the two lopsided games losing the first 10-0 in six innings and blasting the Toros in the second game 17-2 in five innings. Strange day of baseball! In the first game, the Chiefs struggled in all aspects of the game, committing 5 errors and getting just six hits in the game. Of the ten runs scored by the Toros, only two were earned. Gunnar Pacheri did have two hits for the Chiefs and Saxton Poll did not give up an earned run in over two innings of relief pitching.
The second game turned out much better for the Chiefs. Ryan Romero earned the complete game win after 5 innings giving up just two earned runs and five hits in the contest. The Chiefs entered the Boise Senators/Capitals Summer Classic Tournament and got a tough draw. In a well played first game of the tournament, the Chiefs went down to the hands of the Reno Athletics 2-1. Ryan Romero pitched an outstanding game scattering 7 hits, had 8 strikeouts and just two earned runs, but the Chiefs could come up with just two hits on the day, a double by Kyler Wells that scored Danny Myers who walked in the bottom of the first and an infield hit in the second inning by Kameron Battles.
In the second game of the tournament, Athletes in Motion, a team out of Beaverton, Oregon. Athletes held a 5-2 lead heading into the bottom of the 6th but the Chiefs rallied, led by a double by Ryan Romero and a follow up triple by Brady Mesenbrink to eventually knot the score at 5 heading into the top of the 7th inning. Offensively, the Chiefs had just three hits but they scored 3 runs in the second behind a timely two run RBI single by Luke Marks. Danny Myers and Gunnar Pancheri had the other two hits on the day for the Chiefs.
The Chiefs ran into a tough Prospects Baseball Academy out of Alberta, Canada and lost a 6-1 decision in a well played baseball game. The Chiefs played tough but a 4 run bottom of the 5th inning for Prospects put the game away. Tanner Lupton did well on the mound giving up 4 earned runs but once again the Chiefs struggled at the plate getting just three hits in the game. Nate Forseth went 2-3 and Chase Liljegren had an RBI single but the rest of the lineup went a combined 0-20 as they struggled against the Prospects pitcher.
In a wild game, the Eagle Vipers outhit the Chiefs 18-12 and won the game 15-14 on a walk off double with two outs that scored two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning. Saxton Poll got his first start on the mound and pitched well but Eagle hit the ball well all day. Trailing 11-7 heading into the top of the 7th, the Chiefs scored 7 runs to take the lead 14-11 before Eagle answered with 4 runs of their own to take the game. Offensively, several Chiefs had strong games led by Kyler Wells' three hits and two RBI's, Kraig Davidson's double and two RBI's, Brady Mesenbrink who had 3 RBI's, Kameron Battle's who had 2 RBI's and Nate Forseth and Tanner Lupton who each had two hits on the day.
Coming off the Summer Classic, the Chiefs got back into league action, losing a wild eleven inning affair to the Meridian Rangers 10-9. The Rangers scored 5 runs in the bottom of the first and 4 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning so the Chiefs trailed in the game until the top of the 9th when they scored three runs to tie it up before eventually losing it on a based loaded squeeze play in the bottom of the 11th. Brady Mesenbrink had an outstanding game in relief, earning 9 strikeouts in 3.1 innings. Offensively, the Chiefs were led by Tanner Lupton's three hits and two hits each by Kraig Davidson, Kyler Wells and Ryan Romero. Wells and Romero each had two RBI's on the day.
With little rest from the previous night, the Chiefs lost a game previously suspended 10-2 to the Eagle Vipers and followed that up with a 12-2 loss to Eagle in 8 innings. In the first game, Kyler Wells and Kraig Davidson combined to give up just 3 earned runs, but the Chiefs made too many mistakes in field and not enough success at the plate to make a difference. The Chiefs had just three hits on the game.
In the nightcap, the offensive woes continued as the Chiefs managed just two hits during the game. Ryan Romero had a double and an RBI and Kameron Battles had a single. The Chiefs played tired and committed some errors as the 5 of the 12 Eagle runs were unearned.
In the final regular season game of the year, that was supposed to be 9 innings but mysteriously ended in 7, the Rocky Mountain Avalanche came out on top 6-2. Kyler Wells pitched the complete game and gave us just 4 hits and 3 earned runs but the Chiefs couldn't put together enough of their six hits to get more than two runs. Danny Myers led the attack with a single and two RBI's on the day.
