The Braves opened their season at the JB's tournament in Meridian against the Mt. Home Royals. Theron Floyd was the starter and pitched well for four innings with Toby Anderson coming in relief in the 5-2 loss. The play that turned the game against the Braves was a bunt that was read perfectly by first baseman Tanner Lupton who was charging the ball. But it was bunted hard to his left and he just missed it. Theron Floyd was there to back up the play but had to throw high to avoid hitting the runner going to first and the ball went over the head of Danny Myers who had gone to cover the bag. That play allowed the Royals to score a couple more runs and build an insurmountable lead over the Braves.

After a productive JB's tourney which saw the Braves going 2-2 they opened up conference play on the road at Meridian against the Rangers. AJ Cendejas pitched 5 quality innings. Jared Hoops pitched two innings of relief and quickly settled into a rhythm. The highlights were 3 or 4 runners caught stealing by catcher Brendan Crabb and two double plays off caught fly balls where Chase Liljgren and Tanner Robison threw out the runners on first who couldn't get back to the bag before Tanner Lupton's outstretched glove caught the throws.

WOW! Wish I was there to see it. The Braves got behind 11-2 against the home standing Vipers but fought back to tie the score at 13-all in the top of the seventh. Then put up the winning run two innings later. Way to go Braves!

The Braves forgot they have to play an entire game and let leads in both games of the double header slip away. The first game saw multiple errors in the top of the seventh that let the Middleton M's score three runs to tie the game and force an extra inning.

In the second game, the Braves again built a lead but could not keep it and allowed several runs to score on errors.

Playing in the late game on the first day of the Father's Day Tourney after prepping the field for all previous games, the Braves picked up a great win in walk off fashion against the Upper Valley Cats. Upper Valley got three hits in the first inning scoring a couple of runs but the Braves cut the lead in half in the bottom of the first inning. Tanner Lupton settled in on the mound and threw a masterful game recording several strikeouts, if not double digit K's he was very close to it. The visiting Cats added another run before the Braves went ahead as a result of a three-run fourth inning. Kyler Wells came in the top of the seventh inning to close out the game and pitched well but the Cats were able to tie the game at 4-all forcing the bottom of the seventh inning to be played. Brendan Crabb led off the inning worked to a full count but struck out on a controversial called third strike. Toby Anderson stepped to the plate and got a single. Theron Floyd drew a free pass. Nate Forseth grounded out to second on a hit and run advancing the runners to second and third. With two outs, Tyler Hensley hit a walk off single to deep left-center field. It was definitely the most exciting game of the first day of the tournament. Nate Forseth led all batters going 3 for 4.

The Braves met Pendleton at the end of a long day of field work and it showed. There were several errors in the game on routine plays that allowed Pendleton to blow the game wide open. It's a game the Braves would like to forget.

Kuna was the chance for the Braves to get back on the winning track and they did so with a convincing victory. Not a lot of time to celebrate, though, because they still had field work and a good team to play for the night cap.

The Braves played SRV Elks for a berth to the championship tilt on Sunday. The Braves started out very selective during their at bats and had several walks and timely hits to go ahead 3-0. The Elks were not to be deterred and came back to tie the game at 5 a piece and then take the lead 8-5. The Braves got hot again and plated 4 more runs in the bottom of the sixth which could have been more leaving 3 runners stranded and the score 9-8. The Braves held SRV in the top of the seventh with the batters going down in order for the win to advance to the championship game and a re-match against Pendleton.

Getting back to league play was a heart breaker for the Braves against the home TV Stars team in Fruitland. Tanner Lupton pitched another great game but took the loss as the Braves left runners stranded for much of the game including bases loaded in the first two innings.
